The Tox Troopers have been needing a target to shoot at for a while. I'll do a scale test print of this guy soon.

30mm Mythology prints - Skeletons
Quite happy with these things, there's a few tweaks here and there to be made but I'm into the swing of it.
More than anything it's learning how the 3d sculpt on screen will translate into a physical print. That, and settling in on a style.

Legion of the Bull God
The idea behind this range is the Minotaur has usurped his adopted father, claimed the island of Crete and sired a mutant race. These are the vanguard ragged infantry that serve the Minotaur and seek to invade mainland Greece..
Still lots of detail to add.
Kobaloi, Satyrs, Bulltaurs and other such stuff will find a home in this range.
Critters
Some WIP shots of various bugs and general nuisance critters. These will prove useful for tons of ranges...

Heroic style Desert Rebels
Finally getting round to doing all my old smaller scale sculpts in chunky 'heroic style'.
Not quite 100% replication but thematically close enough to the old desert rebels. More to follow, personal preference but I'm not keen on making 10 man strong units... 5 max for the time being.

Aether Pirates WIP
I'd really like to do a range of cog-punk space pirates ala Treasure Planet. One day. For now these two are a start.
Might be useful as Rogue Traders or Inquisitors for warhammer 40k players.
Few minor touch ups and details still to be added. Heads are separate.

WIP sculpts - Space pirates and cultists
Couple of WIP sculpts here.
The space pirates need a few tweaks and details, such as their coat collars. There will be a couple of head options.
The cultists have also got a brute executioner type character in progress, along with the cult leader (or whatever he is, a 'pointer' with a staff)

Hades terrain: the underworld awaits
Pro- good sales, popular ranges, selling out very regularly
Cons - struggle to keep things in stock, very tiring fulfilling lots of orders, less time to sculpt new stuff
All in all, it probably evens out over time. Anyway, while sculpting for production demands zero tolerance for blemish, terrain making is far far more forgiving...
This is either the gateway or the porch to Hades. Early stages and effectively just an undercoat with some colour blocking, washes and minor drybrushing in places. Maybe about 30% of what I determine the painting requirement to be.
The black is going to be water, one of the many rivers of the underworld. The shorelines of which are teeming with lost souls and makeshift tent towns - poor souls awaiting the arrival of their loved ones from the land of the living.
It's hard to make out at the moment but there's a logic to the stonework leading up from the harbour. I intend to give the borders of the trails a bit of colour, perhaps purple or green corpse glow. The pathway tells a bit of a story on the judgement of the soul with some pivot points where a threshold guardian may stand in audience with the recently departed, deciding their fate and ushering them in certain direction.
This is the first of many boards I'm making, effectively taking the dungeon crawler tile laying concept and scaling it up!
This will be the largest and perhaps central tile (21"/32"). Once I've finishing this one I'll do several smaller sections like an extended shoreline, corridors/chambers, and maybe some elevated platforms.
I've also got some very cool DIY pillars that will be modular, and can be placed anywhere. Speaking of which - the two facades in the first and last picture will act as either scenario focal points or objectives.
I'm slightly bored with the eternal flat terrain board and scatter terrain... I want to do some vertical terrain on a cliff face, or a catacombs of the dead multi level metropolis. Approaching the terrain as a stage or a film set switches your creative thought process, and you think about dramatic angles, backgrounds and lines of sight that frame your miniatures for a heroic composition.

Cyclops WIP
I'd like to do at least three in different poses but we'll see, winding down for the festive period has given me lots more sculpting time and I want to get through a lot of difference mythology creatures.
In terms of the general anatomy I'm kind of locked in. I went over a variety of styles and approaches, usually making them fat! I wanted it to have a primal almost Neanderthal or gorilla frame, but not to obviously so.
Its about the size of a GW plastic Ogre Kingdom miniature. I see the cyclops as the ogres of the setting.
I'll do fat versions in the future but for now, this is a wild scavenger type, hence the lean physique.

WIP sculpts - Spartans and Wraiths
The Spartans will be in a set similar to the blue Atheros Hoplites, separate shields and spear arms.
The Wraiths will have separate heads, spear arms and shields. All interchangeable so there's some cool alternatives poses that can be assembled.

Tox Trooper support - WIP sculpts
These all just need a few minor touch ups, straighten the odd line, thin the odd chubby finger etc.

WIP sculpts
A variety of things here... heroic scale characters to join the Tox Trooper range and some very early stage mythology sculpts.
'Movie Spartans' will be the next faction to be released after the Atheros range, in true Red vs Blue style.

Even more metal hoplites...
Getting there.
My shields were just slightly too thin for a robust and reliable production so I need to re-work them, luckily Victrix now do plastic loose hoplite shields so that's a good modelling crutch.
