Techno Communion WIP

Some shots of the Techno Communion batch I'm working on, still lots to do here and plenty of bits to tidy up!

The concept behind these is some sort of AI controlled interplanetary corporation where it's been rationalised that machines are a lot more work to put together than humans are... so we get these cloned warriors and agents who interact with humankind on the behalf of a massive artilect consciousness.

Ala Blad Runner, short lifespans and existential crisis allow for some of these guys to go rogue and appear as interesting characters... with the Techno Communion simply writing them off.

These are the enforcer/warrior castes so look a bit more ragged and tech than the drones slaves and menial technicians.

All this nicely squares up against some good robots who oppose the Techno Communion...

Early work on the Scrap Droid Emissary:

  1. Really really cool looking. Easily the most complicated and impressive work you have done yet. What scale are they?

  2. 30mm to the top of the head on average.

Few words on the scale here : http://miniaturesofthenorth.com/#/info/4577706219

If you check the very first or second post on this blog there is a comparison shot with heroic scale.

    1. Cheers - so they'll be the same as your other stuff - for some reason they looked bigger and bulkier, more heroic scale if you will. Great non the less.
And cool you site is up and running, will follow it closely

    2. I think it's maybe just the shoulder pads and posing that has bulked them out a little, I just measured all my ranges up side by side and they all scale up together nicely.

  3. Love, love, love the robed figures. Been looking for good robed figures for a long time. Any idea if and when they'll be for sale?

    1. Will these then also be sold through your site, or are you going to send them to Anvil?

Also...really digging them, didn't know the Techno Communion were the bad guys. Nice touch! The scrapbot looks excellent, you could expand on that, make a few scrapbot characters.

  5. Probably sell these through my site when it's live.

I've got a faction of old robots in the pipeline, test sculpts in progress.
