Techno Communion Mold 1 Sculpts

The flesh is cheap.

Machines use up far more resources in their creation and maintenance than humans do, their entire life cycle and food source is already established – the fuel just grows there for them!

Their simple bio holographic brains can easily be controlled, even a simple programme called a religion self replicates amongst them, making the programmer god.

Or so the Redemption Sector A.I artilect thinks in it's current situation.

Grow the humans, clone them, what the heck. As they are birthed fully matured, use hypnotic subliminal conditioning to make them think you are father and creator, and then insert the desired instructions and requests, and set up hierarchies and rankings to keep them preoccupied.

Of course they are mere humans, they might occasionally go rogue. That's fine, don't outfit them with the exotic zero point free energy you have, give them mundane plasma and electrical systems. Give them a 5 year life span or so, that's fine they are just tools for manipulating, infiltrating and controlling societies, we have a half a million more ready for birthing tomorrow.

Don’t let the grunts in on the game though, only create special variants of them, Machine Speakers, who can tune in and interact with one of the drone programmes that sit underneath us AI. We don't want our puppets to know we exist after all... let them believe in their supreme god... us.

That's my brief blurb, the background is constantly being refined.... anyway: Miniatures!!!!!

Here's what I hope to get in the first mold:

Ignore the shit staff thing, thats a stand in for now. Machine Speaker and Drone:

See that power glove. That controls his Nintendo.

Elite soldiers, bodyguards of the Machine Speaker maybe?

The grunts:

Not a fan of the hoods myself but I always get/got asked about them so they will be in the mold:

Cyborg Drone, carries the heavy shit. In this case err a robo claw and an industrial ghetto blaster arm. The ghetto blaster gets it's nickname from going through ghetto's and blasting them up, it's a heavy laser beam unit, that backpack carries liquid nitrogen to cool it down when it's pumping out heavy death beats.

All the parts ready for sprue building:

ETA - if were lucky Christmas! My day job is killing me at the moment and there are still some loose ends to tie up before I load up the webstore. Having a Financial Investment and Management background I'm a total control freak and crunch numbers on everything. I've also worked as a Risk Analyst so I need my processes and everything completely rock solid and slick before I start accepting peoples money! I also need to cross reference providers to make sure I'm getting the best deals (bulk postage, packaging... blah blah).

Cheers! I'm sure these guys will be popular, truth be told I'm glad they're out my system and I can move on ha.

Biomechanical test sculpt

Human bio-mechanioids. Where the Techno Communion grow humans and fuse them with machinery... these humans grow bio-mechanical stuff and fuse it with themselves.. I think. They might not even be human but a new artificial race from human stock.

They will have some 'grown on' weapons like this acid rifle, where they flex their weird muscles which contract and spurt out acidic goop. Expect elongated heads (cone heads maybe) and some alien insectoid features.

I see these guys as a small faction of arms dealers or a mafia of some kind, perhaps running clubs and bars where all manner of twisted aliens and humans can mingle and get weird.

Fallen Dwarf Characters WIP

A little more work on the Dwarf characters!

The Heroes feet need redone they are a little bulky and squint. That head is just a stand in for now!

Fallen Dwarf Reinforcements WIP

Time for some Fallen Dwarf reinforcements!

My first real use of super sculpey, here's a giant animated statue/stone Golem. Head and arms will be separate and are really just big versions of the Dwarf Legionnaires. The base is 35mm wide. Top of the head, when it's on, will put this about 48 mm tall.

Test for a cyclops: these guys inhabited the lands originally and as the Dwarves were driven east following a nasty dwarf civil war they defeated and enslaved the cyclops. The feet are based on elephants and I imagine the skin to be roughly the same texture, hence not going all out on ripped muscle. I'm going for a very plain look with them and lots of flat areas (good for conversions). Right hand will probably have a club. The mini separates at the waist and the arms will be separate, I'm working on a second pose so the torso's can be changed over, I'm using metal washers as my guide to ensure a uniform join. 53 mm to the top of the head.

(Cyclops helps me dovetail into greek mythology in the near future).

The might Karkadann! Yep, just a big rhino with a fictional head. Doing a rhino head destroyed the mystique for me so I went back and made this plain beaked face, kind of a throwback to a triceratops. This helps be keep the creature in the fantasy genre.

That base is the big 65 mm across one. The left legs pop off for ease of casting and I'm doing another pose to I'll have two in total. I think I'll sculpt reigns and a back cloth in place but the saddles will be joined to the riders.

These things will get a lot of use out of me and when I get them molded up I'll have a couple of rider options for them:

  • Beast of burden for the Fallen Dwarves, perhaps a palanquin on the back for a giant crossbow or a sorcerer.
  • Riden war beast mount for a desert dwelling tribe of red super orcs (more on these another day, but at least I'll get the riders made to go in the mold).
  • Ridden war beast mount for the Sci-fi Desert insurgents. Painting them green would be cool...

A hero miniature, head and arms will be separate for conversions, along with two sorcerers. Unsure how they will go together, probable separate heads for conversions.

Dwarf Immortals – cloaks and two handed weapons (double ended short halberds all going to plan).

Techno Communion WIP

Some shots of the Techno Communion batch I'm working on, still lots to do here and plenty of bits to tidy up!

The concept behind these is some sort of AI controlled interplanetary corporation where it's been rationalised that machines are a lot more work to put together than humans are... so we get these cloned warriors and agents who interact with humankind on the behalf of a massive artilect consciousness.

Ala Blad Runner, short lifespans and existential crisis allow for some of these guys to go rogue and appear as interesting characters... with the Techno Communion simply writing them off.

These are the enforcer/warrior castes so look a bit more ragged and tech than the drones slaves and menial technicians.

All this nicely squares up against some good robots who oppose the Techno Communion...
